A recent demonstration from MIT’s Media Lab has me floored. This is a great vision for pervasive computing. I expect to see within the decade devices which work towards enhancing lifestyles without conscious interaction. We’re starting to see the first steps in that direction with GPS-enabled devices like the iPhone and HTC G1 with allow applications to leverage your location to provide context-sensitive information. Many of these applications are simply fun ideas, but there are companies like TeleNav who are making their GPS navigation software available for the T-Mobile G1 Handset.
